Terms and Conditions

The following Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings.

Please take the time to read these carefully, as they are written to protect both parties interests.

Participants in any CI Experience Brazil – CI´s programs waive and release all claims against CI and its employees/agents for any injury, loss, damage, accident, expense or delay cause by or related to any means of transportation, lodging (hotel, host family, apartment, dormitory or pension), school premises, restaurant, securing passport and visas or any other services rendered in connection with the program.

The participant also releases CI  and its employees/agents with regard to any financial obligation or liabilities that the participant may incur or any damage or injury to the personal property of others that the participant may cause while enrolled in the program. The participant understands that he/she is traveling under his/her own responsibility (if a minor, the minor’s parent or legal guardian assumes this responsibility) and hereby releases CI and its employees/agents from any liability related to health or safety.

The participant understands that: the airline, train or bus carrier’s liability for loss or damage to baggage or for personal injury is limited by their tariffs and subject to government regulations. Any claims related to the participants chosen method of transportation must be addressed directly to the transportation carrier.

 

Insurance

It is a condition of booking that every passenger must have travel insurance in force for the entire duration of the program. So, you must ensure that the cover provided by your insurance is adequate and appropriate for your placements and personal needs and that it also covers the cost of repatriation, including air evacuation costs, should such a situation necessitate it. You must provide details of your insurance policy (policy number, insurer and emergency assistance telephone numbers) prior to your departure. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are adequately insured, as we will not check your policy. If you join the program without adequate insurance you may not be allowed to continue on the program with no right of refund. CI Experience Brazil accepts no responsibility for the loss of, or damage to, personal property or valuables. Insurance to cover the loss of baggage and valuables is also highly recommended.

 

Service provider

CI shall be responsible for providing the services outlined to the participant. In the event that the services and accommodations outlined cannot be provided due to causes beyond the control of CI, all efforts will be made to provide comparable services and accommodations. If due to insufficient enrollment, a class or program has to be cancelled, CI shall only be responsible for reimbursing the participant the amount of monies paid for the program (excluding any transportation expenses). Program prices are subject to increase in the event of changes in International monetary exchange rates.

 

Confirmation / Invoice

On receipt of your booking and all appropriate payments, we will, subject to availability, confirm your arrangements by issuing a booking confirmation, and/or invoice. Please check the details of your confirmed booking carefully. Please contact us immediately if any information, which appears on the confirmation, or any other document appears to be incorrect, or incomplete, as it may not be possible to make changes later.

 

Payment of Fees

Payment in full is due to one week after confirmation of placement. Non-receipt of payment by due date will result in automatic withdrawal from the program and the participant is subject to cancellation and refund policies.

 

Cancellation/Refund Policy

For cancellations required after confirming the placement into any program there will be a partial refund, with a deduction of US$150,00.

For HOMESTAY Conditions – Full refund of homestay placement fee will be accepted on conditions below:

  • misbehavior of your host family;
  • dirty environment;
  • any criminal incident that must be considered.

CI doesn’t consider problems with your lodging:

  • distance between your homestay and your program placement (internship /volunteer work/school);
  • house appearance, such as old houses and Brazilian architecture;
  • any silly reason for leaving.

For students interested on changing lodging without any reasons for that, we charge US$50  and we do not refund the total amount paid, starting a new process with a new house.

If students already have a house to move, we do not change anything, but we do not refund as well. There are no exceptions for that.

Visa Denial: Full refund of the fees with a deduction of US$150,00.

No refund will be made after arrival in Brazil.
