Useful information
EMPLOYERS – Participants should attend the company schedule. Working hours in Brazil are usually from 9 to 6 pm from Monday to Friday and students will not work more than 44 hours a week. Detailed information will be described on each position. Employers can be private companies (small, medium or large ones) or universities (private or public ones). Some activities require half work day on Saturdays.
PLACEMENTS – Participants can be placed in many areas around Brazil, including big centers and small cities according to the student’s field of study and the availability of vacancies.
PAYMENT AND BENEFITS – Foreign Students in Brazil will receive a “pocket money” to cover daily expenses. Some companies may provide benefits as transportation and meals, but it’s not a rule. The participants should not expect to save money during their stay.. Minimum wage in Brazil is R$ 538,00 (around US$ 260,00). If the student needs any help regarding costs in Brazil please contact us.
VISA - participants must apply for the “Temporary IV Visa”, in order to participate in the program. This visa is granted to international students and allows them to participate into a paid activity. This visa cannot be extended and the visa category cannot be changed while the student is in Brazil. Students must apply for the visa mentioned above before leaving their country and will not be accepted into the program without it.
Exceptions will be made for participants from the following countries due to special immigration rules that had been established: Germany, Spain, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. Citizens of these countries can enter Brazil with a Tourist visa if staying up to 90 days, and therefore there is no need to apply for Temporary IV Visa.
